Hidden Horses

I'm as elevated as I can be and still can't get high enough. I think the horses knew I was coming, so they did what they could to hide themselves. The trick worked during the summer but not today. I'm perfectly willing to shoot this way. If I can shoot through dirty car windows, grass, and broken beer bottles, I can shoot through a bush. To bad horses, I got you again!

Horses

Had I not been at the end of a roll of film this image would not have happened. I was down to one or two shots in my camera and was getting nervous I might not be ready if something really happened. I almost finished the last of the film on my feet in the car but decided to get out, and run up to the top of the sea wall to see if there was anything there. To the left nothing, to the right,...horses. If they'd seen me they probably would have stampeded. I was far away and quick. People ask me about the snow and probably think PhotoShop when I tell them there is none. Thank god for back lighting, wet sand, and the angle of incidence!

Four Horses

The possibilities seemed good as we passed by these guys. It was worth it to find a turn around spot, change lenses, and get set. The horses worked together to make sure I didn't get the one clean image I was looking for. Rears to me, faces in the weeds, one body messing up the other, bad ears, it was funny after a while. This was "Murphy's Law" at it's best. I decided to show the best of the worst. I'm a lot better at not getting the shot, and in this case, seeing the humor. Isn't this funny?!

Horse's Ass

This was going to be a totally different shot when I stopped the car. I think the horses saw me and said, "OK, let's do something totally different when he comes up to the fence". So as I approached, they both turned around 180 degrees. I didn't want them to move, figured they would, and when it happened it still aggravated me. First I thought, "they don't get it". I didn't say it out loud, but I'm glad they turned around. Maybe the horses got it before I did? Nice pose.
