Red Barn Board

I wish this barn could stay like it is forever but it won't. I made images of the whole thing and they look pretty good but what I decided to go with today was the skin of it. The barn had many different types of siding, and this one had that melted vinyl siding look. This barn was old but the color was still vibrant. I thought throwing the power lines out of focus was appropriate since no power was being used. It reminds me of the skin of old heavily used hands.

Dizzy Busy Sky

I don't remember why I was sitting here but I know what I noticed. All the gray. The sky, lines, poles, and the tree. For a short time I hoped something of color would happen by, but what is the chance of that when your aiming up. Too bad the street lamp didn't come on but this is what I had. The tree limbs being out of focus is what makes this interesting. It makes me a little dizzy.

Autumn Highlights

I thought the telephone lines were begging for an image with this highlight on them. Everything else in the image was just support for this otherwise regular and mundane subject. I saw this through my foggy wet drivers side window and just before I rolled it down I made 2 quick decisions. Not to roll the window down and take one shot. I didn't even roll the window down to see what I may have missed. The sharpest part of the image is a small sliver of telephone line of the left edge. It's another "it's not in focus but what's out of focus" shot. My lens gave the perfect vignette possibly from the closeness and angle my lens was to the window. It's like a painting.

Fog

On a good day this shot doesn't happen. This is normally a "nothing" view but the fog changes everything. Many photographers wouldn't shoot on a day like this, "it's too foggy" or "too wet". Fog hides things, add mystery, allows you to do things with the camera you couldn't on a bright lit day. Makes you slow down as well!
